Chinese vendor Lenovo has selected infrastructure VAD Arrow ECS as its server and storage distributor for Ireland and the United Kingdom. Lenovo chose Arrow because of its technical server and storage knowledge, experience and end-to-end professional services including pre-sales and post-sales support, as well as other benefits it will bring to Lenovo's channel partners. Arrow has a strong focus on next-generation distribution which involves working with and developing a network of solution providers in offering innovative computing solutions to both SMBs and larger enterprises. This strategic alliance will involve bringing Lenovo's server and storage products to SMB and mid-market, both directly and through the channel. Arrow will distribute Lenovo’s entire server and storage portfolio including its EMC and ThinkServer solutions.

Initially, the platform will include Infrastructure-as-a-Service offer from AirVM and Numergy, a part of the Cloud offer of Colt (including its EMC-based disaster recovery offer), Cisco-based UC-as-a-Service offer from Elit Technologies, Mozy Storage-as-a-Service, the Flip IT SMB Desktop-as-a-Service from Verizon (in partnership with independant editor NIL) and Vidyo videoconferencing-as-a-service.
