Exclusive Networks creates new force with acquisition of Sidin

Italy: French-based, pan-European network and security VAD Exclusive Networks Group has acquired its Italian competitor Sidin to transform its capabilities in the local market and extend the international and strategic value of vendor relationships such as A10 Networks and Fortinet. Combining its strength with the existing Exclusive Networks Italy business, Sidin will create a new force in the Italian security distribution market with sufficient critical mass to form a more balanced proportion of future Group revenues which are targeted to hit €1b by 2017. The acquisition means Fortinet solutions are now distributed by Exclusive Networks businesses in 12 territories from Africa to the Middle East and Australia/New Zealand and throughout all major western European economies. The Sidin acquisition also sees Sidin's General Manager Gian Silvio Galvani take up the position of Joint Country Manager of Exclusive Networks Italy alongside Edoardo Albizzati, who has successfully driven the Group's local presence since its inception in 2008. Sidin's Turin based offices and warehousing facilities complement Exclusive Networks' existing presence in Milan.

Exertis under the light with Samsung

United Kingdom: broadliner Exertis, through its Home division, has announced the availability of energy efficient LED Lighting solutions from Samsung. The availability will enable Exertis' reseller partners to help their customers lower their energy costs and their carbon footprint, while greatly improving the quality of a room's illumination. The local LED lighting market is predicted to grow by 46% by 2016. This growth will be partly driven by the government's phased ban of incandescent bulbs which began in 2009. It also plans to phase out Mercury and Halogen, too. These measures are part of the government's response to meet the European Union's ambitious climate and energy targets for 2020, known as the "20-20-20" targets. Its three objectives are to achieve a 20% reduction in EU greenhouse gas emissions, raise the share of EU energy consumption produced from renewable resources to 20% and achieve a 20% improvement in the EU's energy efficiency. To further incentivise the uptake of LED solutions, there are Enhanced Capital Allowance schemes available to write off the costs against tax, and there is support for private purchasers under the government’s Green Deal and Carbon Trust initiatives. By offering Samsung's LED solutions, Exertis' reseller partners can play a key role in helping their private and public sector customers to reduce their electricity expenses by up to 80%, while lowering their carbon footprint, too. There are also long-term cost savings to be enjoyed, thanks to LED lights lasting up to 25 times longer than incandescent bulbs, therefore reducing re-lamping frequency. Thanks to Exertis' long-standing relationship with Samsung, in addition to offering a range of its LED solutions, it also has the skills and resources in place to manage a complete Samsung LED installation effectively. Working in conjunction with its reseller partners, Exertis' team of experts are qualified to conduct onsite visits to ensure a smooth transition to a more cost effective and eco-friendly LED lighting system.
