ABC Data invests on the Balkan market

Polish broadliner ABC Data has opened up a new logistic center in Romania, to cover more efficiently the Balkan market (Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia). In this region, the distributor states to have doubled its number of customers. It also has signed a distribution deal in the region with Creative Labs (source: CRN Polska).

Marvel signs with Polycom

Russia: broadliner Marvel Distributsia has inked a distribution partnership with VoIP vendor Polycom, covering its complete offer (source: CRN Rossiya).

Digitrading distributes CamFi

Netherlands: consumer electronics and digital photo specialist Digitrading has started the distribution of CamFi electronic viewfinders for DSLR. The CamFi products uses any mobile device as a viewfinder, allowing the user to easily shoot any exciting view without having to use those very awkward poses.

Medium extends its sales team

Germany: AV VAD Medium has hired Birte Kampmann as sales manager for Bayern and Austria. Previously, Birte was working for Epson as inside sales.

France: having relaunched its website, network and telecom VAD BNS Distribution has quietly launched two new distribution partnerships in the country, the first with Anyk Technology (optical infrastructures) and the second with Mediacom (GPS, mobile and wireless fixed phones).

Polish network and software VAD Connect Distribution has inked a distribution partnership with development tool editor Smartbear Software. Belgium: IP phone vendor Gigaset Pro has started to work with telecom VAD Televersal (a BU of Businesscom) in Belgium and Luxembourg. Gigaset Pro also plans to launch its certification program to Belux resellers, with the active support of Televersal on presales, training, repair, advertising and information.

A new managing director for Tech Data Mobile

Germany: Sven Hollemann has been hired as managing director for mobile and telephony specialist Tech Data Mobile. He was previously working for Ingram Micro as Senior Director Pan-Europe and Category Management EMEA Volume. He reports to Michael Dressen, Regional Managing Director Tech Data Germany and Austria. He replaces Stefan Völker whose new whereabouts are yet unknown.

France: thanks to a group-wide partnership with Innov8, telephony and mobility specialist Extenso Telecom has expanded its smart object offer with Pebble smartwatches.

Audient appoints new distributor

Benelux: young audio specialist Pro Media Connect has been appointed by Audient as its exclusive distribution partner for the Benelux markets. The company will manage all sales, service and marketing for Audient's full product range of mixing consoles, audio interfaces and preamps. Leon Padmos heads up the newly created distribution company. He said: "The people behind Pro Media Connect are well known as successful sales and marketers in the pro audio business. This team was instrumental in the growth of Audient’s business in the past and looks forward to continuing on this upward trajectory." Audient's Simon Blackwood added: "The last 18 months have seen our business grow significantly, with further development planned for the next year. We need to ensure the distribution channels are ready for this. Application delivery vendor Array Networks has inked a partnership with network and security VAD Itway. The company will distribute its products through its offices in Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.

Infinigate in partnership with Watchguard

France: security VAD Infinigate has inked a partnership with WatchGuard for the distribution of its UTM in the country. WatchGuard will leverage on Infinigate to recruit and certify new partners, and thus strengthen its marketshare in the SMB market, through managed security services, thanks to its Dimension monitoring offer (based on private or public cloud). Thanks to this partnership, Infinigate plans to strengthen its position and notoriety on a fast growing market.

AVLINK strengthens partnership in Europe with Intronics

AVLINK, a specialist in audio, video signal distribution- and extension markets for professional use, and Dutch cabling and networking specialist Intronics have signed a distribution agreement. From now on Intronics has the exclusive right to distribute AVLINK products in Europe. Intronics has been the sole distributor of AVLINK products in the Netherlands for years. We know from experience that Intronics has the technical knowledge and the abilitiy to give excellent advice. Tech Data appoints Mike Leary as first dedicated head of HP MFPS

Broadliner Tech Data has appointed its first dedicated business development executive for HP multifunctional devices covering the Ireland and United Kingdom markets. Mike Leary has moved across to this newly-created post having spent the last three years working on cross-vendor business development within the Print and Supplies team. He previously held the position of Senior Retail Account Manager and has worked at Tech Data for almost a decade in total. In addition to making sure that HP partners have access to all the products, accessories, promotions and information they need to maximise their business, one of his key objectives will be to encourage more partners to make use of HP managed print services. These services enable end-user organisations to get the very best value from their investment in HP solutions, and help partners to drive increased revenues and customer retention. Mike says: "This is a great opportunity for me and I'm looking forward to working with HP print partners across the UK and Ireland to help them increase their focus and drive new business. HP's managed print offerings will be one of the key areas I’ll be working on, helping resellers to understand the benefits of always having access to the latest and best HP technology and optimising the usage of print devices and consumption of accessories. While results depend upon unique business environment, the way HP products and services are used and other factors, according to industry analysts, savings of up to 30% are typical with managed print services.

VITEC Imago targets the SmartBuilding market

Germany: IP video VAD VITEC Imago has opened up a new BU for Smart Building Solutions. SmartBuilding covers building automation systems as well as industrial and commercial non-residential buildings monitoring and control, allowing an efficient use of energy and cost. VITEC Imago will distribute products based on common communication standards such as KNX, Modbus, Enocean or Z-Wave, which can be installed without changing any existing wiring. According to the distributor, this market is complementary to its traditional AV market, hence significant synergies. Despite focusing on building automation solutions for commercial buildings, the distributor also plans to distribute products which may be also used on smart home installations. The range of products distributed by VITEC Imago includes sensors, actuators and software.

Tech Data Mobile in partnership with BQ

Telephony and mobility specialist Tech Data Mobile has added BQ tablets, smartphones, 3D printers and related accessories to its portfolio in both France and the United Kingdom.
