Exertis to distribute Star Wars TV

United Kingdom: broadliner Exertis has unveiled an agreement to exclusively distribute the Toshiba 61cm Star Wars Smart TV. Launched at IFA, Toshiba has partnered with LucasFilm to create a uniquely designed themed TV which will appeal to fans of the iconic space adventure series. It will form part of the official merchandise for the Episode VIII "The Last Jedi" to be released prior to Christmas. The TV is framed with a white bezel decorated in X-wings, with the bold lettering of "May the Force be with you" on the stand. The TV displays a Star Wars logo when switched on and depicts a First Order stormtrooper, accompanied by a lightsaber sound every time it is switched off. In addition, the TV also comes in a special Star Wars memorabilia themed box portraying a host of film characters. Caroline Hope, Exertis general manager consumer, said: "we are delighted to be distributing this Smart TV to our customers. With interest already building for the new film, it is certain to appeal to Star War fans of all ages and its size makes it a perfect option for a second TV." The TV is HD ready with built-in Wi-Fi and has two HDMI ports. It has Freeview Play and provides access to Toshiba's Smart Portal and Opera TV store, and with Toshiba's Screenshare an Android device can be connected to the screen. David Flintoft, Toshiba Sales & Marketing Director for Northern Europe, said: "we will be partnering on joint marketing initiatives with Disney to promote the TV before the new film is released. It was well received at IFA and we expect interest to grow as it forms part of the official merchandise. Exertis has the channel expertise to ensure that we capitalise on the opportunity and we look forward to working with them on this release."
