A new boss for Ingram Micro

Netherlands: network and security VAD Contec has expanded its catalog with Mojo Networks intelligent cloud-managed wifi solutions1. Following the acquisition of VAD Avnet TS, broadliner Tech Data has reviewed the organization of its local management2. Bas Scheepens, the former Azlan director, becomes sales general director, while Marc van Ierland, the former Avnet director, becomes Azlan director. TechnoBind appoints Govardhan G.N as VP for its Cloud Biz

India: security and storage VAD TechnoBind has appointed Govardhan G.N as Vice President for its Cloud Business Unit. In his new role, Govardhan will be responsible for building and growing Technobind's Cloud business in the country. His immediate focus would be to develop the technical capabilities, sales resources and go-to-market strategy for addressing the growing opportunities around Cloud and related services. TechnoBind's new business unit will give emphasis to working exclusively through its enterprise channel partner ecosystem in helping clients adopt Cloud for their storage, backup, disaster recovery and data security requirements.

A seasoned IT professional with more than two decades of experience, Goverdhan's expertise spans across areas such as service delivery, data center service and disaster recovery, with a deep understanding of banking, government and private sectors. Prior to joining TechnoBind, Govardhan was part of Danske IT, which is a subsidiary of Danske Bank, the largest bank in Denmark. He served as the only member from India in the Technical Operations team responsible for consolidating the bank's IT services. Previously, Govardhan worked as Vice President of Appnomic Systems and handled various responsibilities that included remote service delivery, network operation center setup and implementation of application monitoring systems for large private banks in India. He has also provided IT Infrastructure Consultancy to banks in India, Middle East and Africa. Govardhan will be based in Bangalore (source: Channel Times India).

Spain: infrastructure VAD Arrow ECS has become the only distributor to be authorized to train resellers on VMware virtualization in the country1. Broadliner Esprinet has started the distribution of Leotec home automation solutions through its reseller network2. Broadliner Informatica Megasur has inked a distribution deal with Dutch distributor Intronics, to push its WP European Cable Solution, Ewent and Eminent cabling and accessories solutions in the country3. Broadliner Infowork has added Gigaset Keeper Bluetooth keyholder to its catalog. Broadliner Ingram Micro has inked a distribution deal with IP phone vendor Yealink, whose products are from now on available through the UC BU of its Specialty Solutions division4. Tech Data announces revised management structure

Czechia: broadliner Tech Data has unveiled a revised management structure for Czechia. Pavel Salák becomes country leader Czechia, responsible for the overall value and volume business. Salák was previously country manager for Avnet Technology Solutions, Czechia and since the close of the acquisition of this business by Tech Data, has led the value business in Czechia.

Tomas Cigler, who was previously country leader for Tech Data, Czech Republic, and since the acquisition, has led the volume business in Czech Republic, will be responsible for the volume business and Datech in the East region as regional director, Client Solutions and Datech, East, Tech Data. Salák and Cígler will report to Judith Ecker, regional vice president, East, Tech Data.

"We have already seen very pleasing incremental business in Czechia as a result of the integration of the two businesses", says Ecker. "Our combined business enables us to offer an increased knowledge and expertise to the market. We have a wider portfolio of vendors and are further investing in next generation solutions for the benefit of our partners and their customers."

Tech Data announces management team for Azlan and Technology Solutions in Spain and Portugal

Iberia: broadliner Tech Data has introduced its combined management team in Iberia, following the successful completion of the acquisition of Avnet Technology Solutions. Santiago Méndez will lead the combined Azlan and Technology Solutions organization in Iberia, reporting to Oriol Cornudella, regional managing director, Tech Data Iberia, who is supported by Pauli Amat, country manager Tech Data Spain and Augusto Soveral, country manager Tech Data Portugal. Méndez will be supported in the Azlan and Technology Solutions organization by Ladislau Lopes, director, Azlan Portugal. Tech Data announces new management team following acquisition of Avnet TS

Italy: broadliner Tech Data has announced that Vincenzo Baggio will continue in his role as vice president and managing director, Italy, following the company's successful completion of the acquisition of Avnet's Technology Solutions business. The leader of the Azlan business in Italy, Riccardo Nobili, will be responsible for the country's combined Azlan and Technology Solutions organisation, reporting to Baggio. Andrea Massari, former country manager at Technology Solutions Italy, takes ownership of next generation technologies – including Cloud, IoT, Security & Networking and Education – as well as the Dell EMC and Software businesses, reporting to Nobili. "This structure has been designed to ensure the continuity of the value we have always provided", says Baggio. "Our new team will work in a consistent manner, approaching the market as a newly integrated organization and providing an increased value and service level to the channel."

Brand and personal updates for CI Distribution, Exclusive Networks, Exertis and Westcon Security

United Kingdom: PC component and peripheral specialist CI Distribution has signed a series of deals with Micron's global gaming memory brand Ballistix, Taiwan-headquartered computer gaming hardware manufacturer Cooler Master and Wi-Fi connected home devices innovator iBaby. Security vendor Symantec has inked a distribution deal with network and security VAD Exclusive Networks for its full corporate portfolio. According to competitor Westcon Security, this signature means an end to the existing partnership between themselves and Symantec (albeit limited to Blue Coat Systems products). Finally, broadliner Exertis has appointed Matt Finn as an account director within its consumer division based in Harlow. Poland: broadliner AB SA has recruited back Grzegorz Ochędzan as finance director. Grzegorz resigned in March with other plans in mind, to finally come back to his former employer. British Isles: UTM vendor Barracuda has signed up storage VAD CMS Distribution to help it reach more MSPs across Ireland and the United Kingdom with the distributor offering cloud security and data protection.

Unsecured creditors of brankrupt broadliner Entatech are set to receive around two-thirds of their money back. According to documents published by Companies House, the administrators show that Entatech’s unsecured creditors are owed just over €11.3m by the Telford-based outfit, and there is €7.3m to pay them off. Of the €11.3 million, €8 million is owed to unsecured trade creditors. This figure includes Microsoft which is owed just over €1.4m.

AV broadliner Midwich has announced that Nathan Rogers has been internally appointed as the Group’s NEC Business Development Manager, having formerly been part of the Midwich Technical team. A new head for Exertis Medium

United Kingdom: broadliner Exertis has promoted Ian Aitken to Exertis Medium AV director with responsibility for sales and commercial operations. He will report to Phil Brown, Exertis IT sales and commercial director. Aitken takes on the leadership role of Exertis Medium following the departure of Ian Sempers the founder, owner and CEO of Medium (UK) Ltd, acquired by Exertis last year.

Paul Bryan, Exertis UK managing director, said: "firstly I would like to thank Ian Sempers for his contribution and professionalism in conducting a seamless integration of the business.
