A new head for Datech

France: broadliner Tech Data has appointed Pierre-Emmanuel Pichaud as new managing director for its Datech division, which is specialized in Autodesk ecosystems. He replaces Henry Gerente whose whereabouts are yet unknown.

Michel Cohen leaves Exclusive Networks

France: after a three-year mission at the head of the French office of Exclusive Networks, Michel Cohen has left the network and security VAD. According to an email he sent to his contacts, he does not plan retirement immediately, but will stay in the market as a consultant for a few more months/years.

Littlebit expands its activities in Benelux

Swiss memory and storage specialist Littlebit Technology intensifies its engagement in the Benelux region. Rene Verkerk has been engaged as Managing Director Benelux for Littlebit Technology BV with immediate effect. A 9-person strong team supports him in the development of the market. Rene Verkerk holds a doctorate in business management. He has more than 22 years of experience in IT distribution (among which, as Managing Director for PC component specialist Europeripherals), as well as excellent relationships to relevant manufacturers serving the IT component and peripheral markets. Moreover, Marc Salimans joins the team in the role of Business Manager Value Distribution. He is responsible for driving business relating to enterprise and solution products. This primarily revolves around enterprise and surveillance hard disks, enterprise SSDs and memory solutions by HGST, SanDisk, Samsung Enterprise and WD.

Littlebit Technology is planning to consistently develop the distribution business in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. The key manufacturer representatives contributing to growth are Corsair, Creative, G.Skill, Gainward, HGST, Kingston, Logitech, Ultimate Ears, Palit and WD. Customers in the Benelux countries will be supplied from the central warehouse for Europe in Alzenau, Germany (also serving its German and Austrian offices). Johnson appointed to key role as Tech Data invests to meet retail customer needs

United Kingdom: broadliner Tech Data has made a further investment in meeting the needs of its retailer customers by appointing Teresa Johnson to the post of Retail Account Director. Jenny Parkinson, who has joined Tech Data from New Dawn Innovations, steps into Johnson's previous post of Business Development Manager for Smart Home and Networking. In her new role, Johnson will be responsible for managing some of Tech Data's key retailer accounts and helping to develop the company's overall approach and strategy to consumer-facing partners. Jenny Parkinson arrives with more than three years of experience working in various positions in retail-focused distribution and becomes part of a growing team within Tech Data's Consumer Technology Group focused on opening new potential with ground-breaking technologies.

Mark McHale promoted to Vice President of Arrow ECS

Distributor Arrow Electronics has promoted former managing director for the Data Centre Solutions division of Arrow, Mark McHale, to vice president of Arrow ECS in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Mark McHale succeeds Jesper Trolle who has been promoted to president Americas of Arrow ECS.

Mark joined Arrow just over thirty years ago and has worked towards a successful career in sales at the company, becoming a member in Ireland and the United Kingdom management team over a decade ago. His experience in the IT industry will support Ireland and the United Kingdom in its investment strategy by identifying game changing technologies to provide the channel with a unique ecosystem of established and emerging vendors that complement one another to meet any customers' desired outcome. More business for ALSO, Boll, DexxIT and Nuvias

DACH: in Switzerland, broadliner ALSO has been appointed as an official distributor by video-conferencing service provider Videonor1. Network and security VAD Boll Engineering has hired Silvia Fonollosa as an export specialist2. She will help Boll's resellers with export-related issues such as certificates, tariffs, licenses, etc. In Germany, retail specialist DexxIT has started the distribution of 3M privacy filters. In Austria, network and security VAD Nuvias has opened a training center in its Wien premises. More business for DexxIT, Michael Telecom, Siewert & Kau, Starline and Tarox

Germany: consumer electronics specialist DexxIT has added several brands to its portofolio, to answer more efficiently to the needs of the gaming market: BeQuiet! (cases and power supplies), LCPower (power supplies, cases, keyboards and mice) and Thermaltake (cases)1. Telecom and telephony specialist Michael Telecom has started the distribution of BeHello mobile accessories through its reseller network. Broadliner Siewert & Kau has strengthened its value business through the appointment of several new employees. Thomas Riedel becomes account manager value. Torsten Brehmer join its Dell expert team as focus sales manager. Finally, Annett Eichler replaces Nicole Tyrell as LG focus sales manager, Nicole joining the Dell team from now on. Storage VAD Starline Computer and broadliner Bluechip have announced that they would provide support and spareparts to bankrupt Transtec customers2. A major appointment for Nimans

United Kingdom: telecom VAD Nimans has strengthened its grip on the UC, IT and end points sector with the appointment of Colin McGregor as its first-ever Director of Major Accounts. Colin will manage and develop sales opportunities with IT service providers, carriers and general customers to open more sales doors and help them capture additional sales. Colin is an industry heavyweight and has worked in the IT distribution sector for the last two decades. He is a former MD of Tech Data (Azlan) and for the last three years has been a partner at channel consultancy Demuto, specialising in strategic growth planning. DACH: network and telecom specialist Allnet has started the distribution of the WLAN solutions from Mojo Networks in the DACH region, through its offices in Germany and Switzerland. Broadliner ALSO has lost another director, as Christoph Diez, who was member of the management board (whose members are now Reiner Schwitzki, Simone Blome and Sylke Rohbrecht), has left the company. Finally, network and security VAD Infinigate has left its historical premises in Oberhaching to move to Haar bei München, for more room for its employees and a bigger training center for its resellers (source: IT Markt Schweiz, Channel Observer Deutschland).

Tech Data puts Cox in place to steer partners towards growth in gaming

United Kingdom: broadliner Tech Data has stepped up its efforts to support customers in one of the fastest-growing sectors of the market by appointing Christian Cox as its new dedicated Business Development Manager (BDM) for Gaming within the Consumer Technology Group (CTG). He moves from his previous role as Business Development Executive within the HP Systems team, a position he’d occupied for almost two-and-a-half years. Commenting on his new post, Cox stated: "this is a really exciting time to be joining the team and taking on this new role in the dynamic and fast-moving gaming sector. Small accessory and peripheral vendor Remax has appointed broadliner 100Mega as an official distributor in both Czechia and Slovakia. Appointments at Exertis and Spicers

United Kingdom: broadliner Exertis has appointed Rik Hubbard as Commercial and Services Director for its mobile division, reporting to Simon Woodman, Exertis Mobile' Director. In his new role, Rik will be working with the sales and purchasing teams to maximise performance of the division's vendors across the consumer and business to business areas. He will also be responsible for building on the opportunity to launch a range of device focused services from trade-in, repair and refurbishment to finance and service contracts, following the recent announcement of the acquisition of the MTR Group. On its part, office supply specialist Spicers has appointed two new Marketing Account Managers who will be tasked with working directly with Spicers, supporting dealers to help drive their sales growth. The newly appointed Marketing Account Managers, Annie Dempsey and Lee Diggens, join an existing team of 30 office-based marketers. They will focus on spending time face-to-face with dealers to help them grow. Middle East: network and security VAD Nuvias has hired Khaled Hader as sales manager for KSA and Bahrain. Khaled was previously working for Innovative Solutions, a Saudi security system integrator.

BeIP loses its business development director

France: Rémy Millecamp, who was business development director for network and security VAD BeIP, has left the distributor to found DC Communication, a service company focussed on security, networking and digital transformation. Millecamp's job has been taken over by Serge Leroy, whose marketing tasks are from now on managed by Houssine Tahtah.

Medium hires from LG

Germany: AV VAD Medium has appointed Verena von Œrtzen as its marketing manager and focus sales manager Epson. Before joining Medium, Verena was working for LG since 2006, lately as trade marketing manager for information systems products and videoprojectors.

A new head for Ingram Micro

Poland: having acquired multispecialist RRC some months ago, American broadliner Ingram Micro is now busy transforming it into a full fledged broadline distributor. Thus, the distributor has hired Marcin Sowiński as new volume business development manager for its Polish office (source: CRN Polska).

Germany: AV VAD Kern & Stelly has made several modification in its organization chart. Nadine Daniel, a 12-year employee of the distributor, takes in charge the complete sales team (including pre-sales and after-sales).
