Tech Data expands partnership with Docker

Broadliner Tech Data has announced that its Azlan VAD division has extended its distribution agreement with Docker, to deliver their Enterprise Edition (EE) offering across a wider European footprint. This partnership further strengthens Tech Data's footprint in the data center market and provides partners with the ability to take a holistic approach to application and software development, deliver agility and flexibility to IT operations, and drive down operational costs. "Containerization is a fast-growing technology and we see a good opportunity with Docker to provide more of our customers with the competitive edge they need to stay ahead", said Jason Boxall, vice president Strategic Vendors & International Channels EMEA at Tech Data. "Tech Data is already an established leader in data center solutions and can provide an optimum platform for Docker's technology to transform more businesses across Europe. In turn, Docker will benefit from our extensive partner network as we work together to help drive adoption and integration with a range of technologies in various enterprise environments."

Tech Data will distribute Docker Enterprise Edition (EE), an integrated platform for developers and IT teams to collaborate, bringing improved security, policy and controls to the application lifecycle without sacrificing agility or application portability. Tech Data will also distribute all editions of Docker Enterprise Edition (EE) subscriptions: Basic, Standard and Advanced. This agreement will help to drive innovation in the cloud and leverage existing knowledge to create optimal data center environments. Docker Enterprise Edition provides organisations with an enterprise-ready management solution that allows developers to ship applications from development to production 13 times faster, while giving operations teams the ability to seamlessly migrate these workloads to the cloud.

The extended footprint includes Austria, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland, as well as all of the East region countries where it operates, including Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey and the Adriatic region. The rollout is being done in a phased approach, which started with Switzerland in March and Portugal and Spain in April. Additional countries will be rolled out over the coming months.
