Exclusive Group acquires US VAD Fine Tec
2017-08-11

United States: French network and security VAD Exclusive Group has advanced its global distribution partner offering with the acquisition of leading Silicon Valley-headquartered cybersecurity VAD Fine Tec, a local Fortinet distributor. The move places Exclusive Group at the heart of the world's largest cybersecurity market; complementing its existing global presence throughout the EMEA and APAC regions. Global systems integrators, service providers and vendors, as well as large North American reseller partners, will be the chief beneficiaries as Exclusive Group extends its unique, highly successful 'Disruptive Distribution' blueprint with an established local player that already shares similar DNA and value-adding culture.

"This will be a major step forward for our global proposition as we harness US-based skills, resources and relationships to support the execution of worldwide deals with large systems integrator partners and to advance our unique formula into the domestic market", said Olivier Breittmayer, CEO of Exclusive Group. "Fine Tec is as an operationally excellent business with a strong services capability and successful reputation for delivering value in a highly competitive environment. It represents a great opportunity to integrate a culturally-aligned business into our global family, and we look forward to working with Fine Tec CEO James Shen and his team to build on their success and accelerate growth throughout the region."

"This is great news for everyone connected with Fine Tec family as it validates the approach we've taken to value-added distribution in the US for nearly 20 years", said James Shen, Fine Tec President & CEO. "The Exclusive Group story is well known and we’ve admired it from afar, but now with the Group's global reach and resources it opens up many new opportunities for our partners. It really is an exciting time as there is true opportunity to extend the disruptive distribution model to the US, whilst the ambition for us to grow internationally is finally realised."

The move follows Exclusive Group's recent appointment of Patrick Huth as VP Alliances Americas, who will be instrumental in enabling new partner and vendor opportunities alongside Fine Tec's existing leadership team. The successful integration of the Fine Tec business is set to increase Exclusive Group's forecast revenues for the full year 2017 to 1.8bn€ ($2bn).

Exclusive Group stakes claim in world's biggest market
2017-07-13

Network and security VAD Exclusive Group has launched its unique brand of "Disruptive Distribution" to the US market with the appointment of highly successful channel operator Patrick Huth as VP Alliances Americas. Pat will have responsibility for growing vendor and partner alliances across the world's largest IT market. This latest chapter in Exclusive Group's worldwide expansion is set to deliver significant value to major vendor and GSI partners and complements Exclusive Group's extensive presence throughout EMEA and APAC where total revenues of €1.3b were achieved in 2016.

"The US is a key objective in our global expansion and we see great opportunities for our business alongside key vendor, service provider and systems integrator partners. As VP Alliances, Pat will play a major role in converting those opportunities into results", said Barrie Desmond, COO at Exclusive Group. "We are the only European headquartered global VAD, but it almost feels like we're coming home. Many of our partners are US-based and understand our unique worth in delivering accelerated market success, combining global scale with a genuine commitment to value. The near-term plan is to harness Pat's market expertise and phenomenal track record, so that we ensure local relevance as our successful formula is applied."

Exclusive Group's new VP, Patrick Huth, is an accomplished IT channel sales leader with almost 40 years' experience in distribution, both across the US market and globally. Having held a variety of management roles during a stellar career in the channel, his latest position was as Senior Director of Partner Management for Westcon-Comstor Group where he led efforts to successfully grow revenue and profitability for several top vendors and managed a portfolio worth more than €900m.

"Exclusive's reputation is well known and admired as a major force in delivering a different type of distribution and I'm extremely excited about the opportunity we have to expand our global partnerships", said Huth. "Both our cybersecurity and datacentre IT vendor portfolios are heavily biased toward highly innovative technologies that disrupt the market and provide a platform for generating immense value. US-HQ'd partners now have a new choice when looking to deliver global deals and enhanced value."

Exclusive Group transforms leadership team
2017-04-25
Network and security value distribution group Exclusive Group has restructured the business to exploit continued global growth and opportunities with two key promotional appointments. Julien Antoine, currently Group Director of Global Operations is taking the new position of VP of EMEA while Will Smith, currently Group IT Director increases his scope to become Group CIO. Julien Antoine's new remit as VP of EMEA recognises the need for increased scale and support to the Group's largest operating region, enabling the structure to flex and adapt to the challenges of a fast changing billion euro business unit. The promotion of Will Smith as CIO, recognises the importance of the Group’s digital transformation and the significance of IT and data intelligence in this journey. These enhancements to Exclusive Group’s leadership team complement the recent high-profile appointments of Stéphane Duplaix as Director of Strategic Global Alliances, and David Ellis as Group Director of Global Services. The senior leadership team now benefits from a wealth of successful entrepreneurialism, diversity and know how in building a highly agile global business structure, designed to deliver local value. "Our long-term success has always been centred on the ability to anticipate and adapt to disruption without diluting any of our value, and these important new positions will safeguard these unique strengths as we scale to new levels", said Barrie Desmond, COO of Exclusive Group. "Julien and Will bring huge energy and talent to the team and are fully committed to our VAST mission. These moves also recognise that we need to transform ourselves as well as transforming technology consumption and distribution if we are to maintain our disruptive position." "We are the only major VAD to be headquartered in Europe, and EMEA will always remain an important part of our growing global operations", said Julien Antoine. "Our value-adding principles are absolutely central to our continuing market relevance and our future growth throughout the region. There are exciting opportunities ahead as we continue to expand our services capabilities as well as market presence for Exclusive Networks and BigTec." "The Group IT function has doubled in recent years, making us well-positioned at the forefront of digital disruption to ensure we are creating value internally, and for customers, partners and vendors", said Will Smith. "Customer requirements are constantly evolving and we must continually address these while remaining efficient and easy to work with. I firmly believe that if you are not disrupting then you risk being disrupted."

Exclusive Group grows Benelux presence with TechAccess team up!
2017-02-22

Benelux: French network and security VAD Exclusive Group has acquired Dutch competitor TechAccess for an undisclosed amound. The acquisition grows the combined Benelux operation to over 150 staff at offices in Son and Amersfoort (the Netherlands) and Kontich and Duffel (Antwerp region, Belgium - to be later merged). And with a vendor portfolio and value ethic matching that of Exclusive, the deal boosts the Group's position in the region (especially in the Netherlands where Exclusive Networks local operations lag far behind TechAccess) and continues the successful transaction formula that has seen it become one of the industry's fastest growing distributors worldwide. The acquisition adds Fortinet distribution into the Netherlands, extending a relationship that spreads across all of EMEA & APAC. Other shared synergies include Arista, Brocade, Edge-Core, Gemalto, Huawei, Infoblox and Supermicro, plus the passion and commitment to offer market differentiation through continued innovation and value-based services.

Olivier Breittmayer, CEO of Exclusive Group, said: "we identified TechAccess as a strong candidate to boost our Benelux market presence and to provide the catalyst for further growth in the region. The people are highly aligned to our way of thinking, and it is these shared values that will act as a unifying force for our two businesses. The Exclusive project, to become a 'VAST' group on a global scale, but with local execution, continues at a pace and is strengthened today with this announcement and the addition of Berry van Waayenburg and his team."

"Exclusive Group offers a compelling vision for the future of value-added distribution, and access to global resources that will propel our ambitions to the next level", said Berry van Waayenburg, Co-Founder and CEO at TechAccess who now becomes Exclusive Networks Netherlands' Country Manager reporting to Exclusive Group Benelux Regional Director, Kris Van den Bergh. "Our combined strength increases our relevance to vendors and partners, providing enlarged market access and greater resources to execute value-added services. These are exciting times for everyone associated with TechAccess and the existing Exclusive Networks, BigTec and Exclusive Capital businesses in Benelux."

Kris Van den Bergh added: "having admired TechAccess for some time, I'm delighted to welcome them to the Exclusive family. The opportunity to combine both companies with the same DNA and growth ambitions was one we could not ignore, and I look forward to working together towards greater success on this exciting journey."
