British Isles: UTM vendor Barracuda has signed up storage VAD CMS Distribution to help it reach more MSPs across Ireland and the United Kingdom with the distributor offering cloud security and data protection. Unsecured creditors of brankrupt broadliner Entatech are set to receive around two-thirds of their money back. According to documents published by Companies House, the administrators show that Entatech's unsecured creditors are owed just over €11.3m by the Telford-based outfit, and there is €7.3m to pay them off. Of the €11.3 million, €8 million is owed to unsecured trade creditors. This figure includes Microsoft which is owed just over €1.4m. AV broadliner Midwich has announced that Nathan Rogers has been internally appointed as the Group's NEC Business Development Manager, having formerly been part of the Midwich Technical team. Nathan's appointment reflects the exceptional rate of growth within the IT and AV industry as customers become increasingly reliant upon Midwich Group's specialist knowledge and expertise to provide high quality AV solutions. Telecom VAD ProVu has bid farewell to its long-standing Sales Director and Founder, Ian Godfrey, as he retired from the company. In a career spanning 18 years, Ian has become a well-known figure in the Channel. Having established ProVu back in 1999, he has played a tremendous role in the development of the company, helping to build their reputation as leaders in the field of VoIP hardware distribution (source: Microscope United Kingdom, Channel Eye United Kingdom, Comms Business United Kingdom).

British Isles: Dylan Price, who was sales manager for telephony specialist Brightstar, has left the company1. PC component and peripheral specialist CI Distribution has announced three new new partnerships with key players in the IT industry: Brother (rugged mobile printers), iKey (rugged keyboards, mice, display and pointing devices) and Mad Catz (gaming accessories). Scale Computing, an hyperconverged storage, server and virtualisation vendor, has unveiled a partnership with VAD CMS Distribution, which will be responsible for selling Scale Computing's HC3 hyperconvergence and virtualisation platform, across Ireland and the United Kingdom. After 11 years of business, lately as sales manager, Ian Miller has decided to leave telephony specialist Data Select1. The mobility division of broadliner Exertis has been chosen by STK as a distributor for its new line of handsets2. Telecom VAD Nimans has expanded its reseller training programme by hosting its first-ever event at a new support centre. The facility is part of the company's modern Trafford Park Trade Counter on the outskirts of Manchester, where Panasonic resellers brushed up on their technical skills as part of an inaugural three-day course. Finally, AV specialist Sahara Presentation Systems has extended its deal with Milestone AV Technologies to secure rights to distribute Chief mounts and brackets to resellers and integrators in the country. CMS Distribution acquires TNS Connect to explore new routes to market

Irish storage VAD CMS Distribution has acquired consumer electronics specialist TNS Connect from PCH for an undisclosed amount. This acquisition further strengthens CMS Distribution's position as Europe's leading IT specialist distributor. Frank Salmon, founder and CEO of CMS Distribution, commented on the acquisition: "we are delighted to welcome TNS Connect to the group. As specialists in emerging consumer technologies, they have an impressive range of vendors and customers which perfectly complement the CMS Distribution portfolio. Our customers will gain access to the latest consumer technology trends, an increased product portfolio, additional sales and marketing resources and more competitive offerings. We are very excited to offer our vendor partners new routes to market, allowing them to explore new business opportunities."

CMS will continue to run the business under TNS Connect's brand for the foreseeable future and TNS's leadership and management team will remain, continuing to focus on the growth of the business.

CMS Distribution expands its leadership team with Niall Wall

Ireland: storage VAD CMS Distribution has appointed Niall Wall as Non-Executive Director. Niall brings a wealth of leadership experience. Until recently he was CEO at Ardagh Group, a global packaging business with revenues of €8Bn and formerly Sterile Technologies Group and Tipperary Crystal. Wall retains a major shareholder at Ardagh Group. He will join as Non-Executive Director at CMS Distribution's parent company, Storit Limited. "I am delighted to join the board as I believe CMS Distribution is at a very exciting stage of its evolution in a very exciting industry", said Wall. Frank Salmon, CEO of CMS Distribution, commented: "I am delighted to end the year with the appointment of Niall Wall, another highlight for 2016. CMS Distribution takes majority stake in Newgen Distribution

Irish storage VAD CMS Distribution has built on its partnership with Scandinavian consumer electronics specialist Newgen Distribution by acquiring a majority stake in the business. Newgen's founder shareholders Axel Djurson and Max Ellberg will stay on with the business as joint managing directors, and retain the remaining share capital. Newgen supplies key retailers in the region with a range of products. Sales in 2016 are expected to exceed €13.8m, up 100% on the previous year. CMS Distribution acquired a minority stake in Newgen as part of its acquisition of fellow distributor Widget earlier this year. That stake has now been increased to over 50%, making Newgen a subsidiary of CMS Distribution Ltd. Frank Salmon, CEO of CMS Distribution, said: "we are delighted to increase our involvement with the Scandinavian markets. CMS wants to become a significant player in continental Europe, opening up more opportunities for our suppliers and offering the benefits of scale to our customers." Newgen will be managed separately from CMS Distribution BV, the group's 100% owned subsidiary in continental Europe, which is based in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
