Nuvias named Oracle PartnerNetwork Platinum Level Partner
2017-08-18

VAD Nuvias has achieved Platinum partner status in Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN). By attaining Platinum level membership, Oracle has recognized Nuvias for its in-depth expertise and excellence in Oracle Communications Session Border Controller (SBC) and Operations Monitoring solutions. This achievement further strengthens the EMEA product portfolio for the recently launched Nuvias Unified Communications (UC) Practice, which resulted from the acquisition of leading UC specialist SIPHON Networks at the end of 2016.

Oracle Communications' SBC will form the core part of a range of Nuvias' end-to-end UC solution packages aimed at the service provider and enterprise reseller markets. These include the Nuvias Hosted Unified Communications Package, integrated with Broadsoft UC cloud technology, as well as the Nuvias SIP Trunking, Cloud Connector and Assured Trunk packages.

Nuvias will roll-out these new Oracle-based solutions across EMEA with a focus on DACH (Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland), France, Italy, Spain, the Nordics (Denmark, Norway and Sweden) and the Middle East, through established Nuvias regional sales and support operations.

Oracle Communications empowers Network Operators, Enterprises and Digital Lifestyle Providers to innovate and adapt for the NOW Economy – a software-driven, cloud-enabled, digital business environment where communications enable strategic competitive advantage. With Oracle Communications' SBCs, service providers and enterprises can deliver trusted, real-time communications services and applications across IP networks, from basic Voice over IP (VoIP) to Voice over LTE and advanced multimedia applications. This offers unparalleled control functions and features, protocol support, and programmability and manageability in any type of IP network.

"There is growing momentum in the global UC market and Nuvias has a major opportunity to take Oracle Communications’ SBCs to new service providers and enterprise markets across EMEA, where they have an established channel network", said Carl DCosta, Vice President of Worldwide Alliances and Channels for Oracle Communications. "Having built up a strong relationship with SIPHON in the UK, we are confident that Nuvias can deliver the same consistent solutions and high level of support across EMEA."

"Oracle Communications is a major component of our Unified Communications Practice and, in combination with best of breed products from other leading vendors, allows us to provide the channel with the highest quality, end-to-end solutions", said Steve Harris, EVP, Unified Communications at Nuvias (formerly Managing Director of SIPHON). "With our experience of delivering professional services for Oracle Communications’ SBC resellers, we are now in a strong positon to offer a full product and services wrap to channel partners across EMEA, including existing and new service providers."

With its Platinum status, Nuvias receives the high level of engagement, commitment and resources available to OPN partners. Platinum members receive dedicated virtual account management support to build joint development plans and help broaden specialization areas and revenue opportunities. Additional benefits include priority placement in the OPN Solutions Catalog, one free application integration validated by Oracle, joint marketing and sales opportunities, discounted training and more.

Nuvias acquires DCB
2017-08-17

Benelux: VAD Nuvias Group has acquired Benelux security VAD DCB for an undisclosed amount. Nuvias already has offices in the Netherlands (Amsterdam for Zycko and Oud-Beijerland for Siphon), and this move will strengthen and grow its presence in the Benelux region. DCB is a distributor with offices in Belgium (Zaventem) and the Netherlands (Veldhoven). The company has more than twenty years' experience in the industry and is focussed on cyber security, with vendors such as WatchGuard Technologies, Kaspersky Lab, Trustwave and Centrify.

Paul Eccleston, CEO Nuvias Group, said: "DCB is a value-added distributor with a very strong reputation and a large partner base. Its emphasis on service and support, outstanding product knowledge and a commitment to excellence are completely in line with the philosophy and strategy of the Nuvias Group. The DCB product range is fully aligned with the Nuvias Cyber Security Practice, with vendors such as WatchGuard and Kaspersky in common. We will be adding our pan-EMEA security vendors, such as Arbor Networks, Malwarebytes and HID Global to the DCB portfolio."

With this acquisition, DCB becomes the Nuvias Cyber Security Practice for Benelux and will further strengthen the overall Cyber Security Practice within the Nuvias Group. Eccleston added: "the Benelux region is very important strategically for us and DCB will become the Cyber Security Practice there, alongside our already established Advanced Networking and Unified Communications Practices. We will be making significant further investments in Benelux in the months ahead, including additional staff."

Wim Clinckspoor, Managing Partner for DCB, said: "this is a very exciting opportunity for DCB customers, vendor partners and staff. Becoming part of Nuvias, which shares our core beliefs and commitment to technical excellence and high service levels, gives us the resources to grow and develop further in Benelux. It will allow us to take on more high growth vendors looking for pan-EMEA, high value distribution."

DCB will continue to operate from the same locations, with the same staff and the same management team, led by Managing Partners Wim Clinckspoor and Luk de Dobbeleer.

Nuvias launches Unified Communications Practice
2017-05-29

Network and storage VAD Nuvias announces the EMEA launch of its Unified Communications (UC) Practice. The Practice is based on the UC capabilities and services provided by SIPHON Networks, which became part of the Nuvias Group in October 2016. SIPHON is a leading, award-winning UC solutions and technology enabler for the channel, already established in Benelux and the United Kingdom. The UC practice will be rolled out across EMEA over the coming months, through Nuvias regional branches, starting with Germany (where the BU was presented on Cebit) and the other countries following later (Austria, Denmark, Dubai, France, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland). More Nuvias staff are being added throughout EMEA to support vendor and reseller partners. Existing UC vendors and new vendors are expected to take advantage of Nuvias' growing UC capability across EMEA to increase sales in the region. Likewise, it is anticipated that both existing and new Nuvias reseller/integrator channel partners across EMEA will take up the opportunity to enter this thriving market or expand their UC business.

Paul Eccleston, CEO of Nuvias, said: "SIPHON is an exceptional company with a very strong offering for the channel, as demonstrated by its phenomenal growth in the last few years. SIPHON's strong technical and solution engineering expertise has enabled it to work closely with vendors and resellers on the development of UC solutions; this factor, together with the provision of a very high level of service and solutions capabilities from SIPHON, has been instrumental in its success."

Steve Harris, EVP Unified Communications Nuvias and Managing Director SIPHON, commented: "A major reason for joining Nuvias last year was the chance it gave us to grow and expand both in the UK and internationally. The UC EMEA launch of Nuvias lays the foundations for achieving that ambition. This is a very exciting time in UC across EMEA, with really significant opportunities for the IT channel to move into the lucrative UC market and conquer the legacy competition. We believe that, as part of Nuvias, we are the right solutions and technology enabler to provide the service, support and technical know-how our channel partners want to help them make the most of this market opportunity."

2017-03-03

MEA: infrastructure VAD Ingram Micro North Africa, based in Morocco, has inked a distribution partnership with Lenovo, focusses on its storage systems and servers.

In Dubai, network and security VAD Nuvias MEA has started to distribute solutions from Mimecast, an email and data security company, in the Middle East to support its growth plans across the region. This partnership is in response to the growing business, robust customer base and strong demand for its cloud security solutions in the region. Nuvias MEA will drive business in the area through its strong channel network and innovative channel programs. Channel partners will benefit from enablement programs, technical support and consulting services, backed by highly qualified experts from both Mimecast and Nuvias. Alasdair Kilgour, Vice President Middle East and Africa at Nuvias, commented: "Mimecast is a very significant addition to the Nuvias MEA Cybersecurity Practice solution stack because of its ability to protect the enterprise from email-based attacks including impersonation attacks, social engineering and ransomware. We are delighted to be working closely with the local Mimecast team to bring their cloud email continuity services to our reseller partners and their end-users across the region."

Meanwhile and still in Dubai, Nuvias' competitor Redington Value and Chinese vendor Huawei, have started a collaboration in the information technology space with the objective of developing smart, futuristic solutions together. "Huawei is not only one of the leading providers of information and communication technology but is also steadily changing the landscape in emerging technologies such as cloud computing and internet of things", said Ramkumar Balakrishnan, President, Redington Value. "Huawei and Redington Value have a common ideology in terms of how digitalization is transforming the IT industry and how different industry verticals can use disruptive IoT technology to their advantage and increase productivity. The partnership is focused on collaboration with Huawei's cloud offerings and internet of things. We will also leverage the Red Vault to host leading Huawei technologies for the benefit of industry specialists while engaging jointly on smart city projects. Additionally, we look towards our other key initiatives such as the Red Cloud and our consultancy arm - Citrus Consulting to provide impetus to our strategy this year."

Finally, Taïwan-based vendor TP-Link has appointed telephony specialist SALE International as its distributor for the Neffos smartphone portfolio in Oman, after the distributor has started to diversify its business into mobile phone distribution some months ago. According to the vendor, the appointment of SALE International as its distribution partner paves the way for the company to develop its business in the channel space in Oman. Lucas Jiang, General Manager TP-Link Middle East and Africa (MEA), said the company is delighted to have signed SALE International as its distributor in Oman: "SALE is one of the largest telecoms focused distributors in Oman and the wider Middle East. By appointing SALE International to distribute the Neffos range of smartphones and accessories, we are demonstrating the commitment that TP-Link is serious about growing its mobile devices business in the region." Jiang said TP-Link selected SALE International because it is a reputable distributor with solid presence in the telecoms distribution space in Oman and the region. Naser Khalid, Country General Manager SALE International, said: "adding Neffos to SALE's basket will bring further value to us as a distributor that wants to grow its business in the mobile devices trade. TP-Link is a well know brand in the computer industry and with Neffos as the company's mobile brand, we will have their commitment to innovate and provide an aggressive line up of mobile handsets. The plans presented and the interest shown by TP-Link in building the mobile brand was impressive and is what led us to sign as their distribution partner. The partnership between TP-Link and SALE International is a strategic one, which will bring value to consumers with quality products being delivered to the market through a well-established distribution set up. SALE International's strength is distribution and we currently have business relations with more than 2,000 mobile phone independent retailers in the Sultanate. The response for the Neffos range from channel partners has been positive and we are looking forward to maximise the positive feedback."

Nuvias opens new office
2017-02-23

Switzerland: network and security VAD Nuvias (which includes Zycko, Wick Hill and SIPHON) has opened a new office in Zurich. Nuvias AG Schweiz gives Nuvias complete coverage across the DACH region and complements its existing offices in Germany (Munich, Hamburg and Berlin) and Austria. Helge Scherff, Regional Vice President, Central for Nuvias, said: "our business in Switzerland, which we have been servicing from our German office, has been growing, so we decided to open a Swiss office, with both sales and technical personnel to support our customers there. We want to act as a true local partner to the local reseller base, providing the service and support they need. We have already appointed sales and technical staff to the office and will be building the numbers during the coming months. Besides providing local support, the Swiss office will also have access to the portfolio and facilities available to the wider Nuvias Group across EMEA."

A key motivator in opening the office was Nuvias' appointment by Riverbed as a Swiss distributor, an extension of Nuvias' existing EMEA distribution agreement with the networking vendor. Zycko (now part of the Nuvias Group) has been a Riverbed distributor since 2005, and is the most extensively resourced, qualified, experienced and successful Riverbed distributor in EMEA. The new office allows Nuvias to give Riverbed the best service and support at a local level in Switzerland.

Paul Eccleston, CEO of Nuvias, commented: "Nuvias has traded successfully in Switzerland for many years, through Zycko and Wick Hill. The growth of our business in Switzerland, and the opportunities we see here, are the reason for opening this new office. We see this is as a serious commitment to the territory, and in particular to Riverbed, with significant opportunities for local resellers. As planned, we are extending our reach in EMEA to bring the highest quality of service and support to our channel partners across the region."
