Tech Data's EMM hub provides platform for resellers to grow as trusted advisors

United Kingdom: broadliner Tech Data has launched the enterprise mobility management (EMM) hub as the first element of its Trusted Advisor knowledge development programme, which provides resellers with a wealth of information on key solutions areas, helping them market and sell new solutions, plan and deliver projects, and lead their customers into a profitable partnership. The EMM hub is populated with an extensive array of articles, guides and other content that will enable resellers to learn about EMM concepts and solutions and how to identify and address market opportunities. It is the first in a series of solutions-focused microsites that Tech Data is creating as part of a much wider knowledge programme, aimed at providing resellers with the insights and understanding they need to drive growth. "The EMM pages contain a wealth of informative and inspiring content that will enable resellers to build and develop the knowledge and capabilities of their sales and technical teams in this important and complex area of the market", said Phil King, Solutions Practice Director at TD Azlan. "Resellers need to have authentic, credible and differentiated propositions. The EMM hub – and in particular the Trusted Advisor Blueprints – will help solutions providers to accelerate their capabilities."

The Blueprints are a series of in-depth documents that include identifying EMM opportunities, building a mobile device, application and content management (MDM, MAM and MCM) strategy, and the importance of EMM in the future. Tech Data also provides a Trusted Advisor Readiness Assessment, which resellers can use to assess a customer's current position on EMM and how it can be improved. As well as a wealth of independent content, the EMM microsite has extensive information on the solutions and programmes offered by BlackBerry, Citrix, Microsoft and VMware. Additional hubs focusing on other important areas of opportunity will be added over the coming months, King added: "The EMM site is really excellent but this is just the start. There is much more to come from the Trusted Advisor programme. In today's market, it is more vital than ever to have a thorough understanding of customer needs and of new technologies and concepts. The Tech Data Trusted Advisor programme will provide resellers with the resources they need to develop their ability, engage with us and with key vendors, and provide them with the confidence to develop value propositions and grow their business." The whole programme is, he noted, a further evidence of Tech Data's leadership in distribution and focus on the customer. "We're making a considerable investment to develop the Trusted Advisor hubs and in doing so, we are providing resellers, VARs, integrators and services providers with the foundation knowledge they need to develop their business. This is an important commitment to our customers and the future of both their businesses and our own."

Tech Data and OKI offer new growth potential to B2B partners with print

United Kingdom: broadliner Tech Data and OKI are now distributing the full range of OKI business LED printers and multifunctional print (MFPs) devices in the country. The two companies have formed a new partnership that extends choice and brings new growth potential to Tech Data’s reseller customers serving the corporate, SMB and public sector markets. With immediate effect, the full range of OKI products and consumables will be available from Tech Data. As well as extending the distributor's B2B portfolio, the agreement enables OKI to benefit from the extensive market reach and logistical capabilities of Tech Data in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Tech Data will be promoting the OKI Shinrai Partner Programme to resellers. The scheme gives resellers access to a range of benefits and resources, including sales support and OKI's PartnerNet promotional and marketing tools. In addition, Tech Data is offering incentives for both existing and new OKI partners. Until the end of December, the Test the Best incentive provides a 50% discount on up to two units per model, per partner on the 11 devices covered by the promotion. There is also the special Seicho incentive offer available to resellers who have not purchased OKI products for over one year, of 30% discount on their initial purchase. Tech Data has underlined its commitment to making the partnership a success by appointing Ruari Metcalfe as its dedicated OKI Business Development Manager. He will be responsible for supporting OKI partners in identifying opportunities, getting the best out the Shinrai Partner Programme, and growing their sales.

Tech Data looking to bring more resellers onto its TDengage webstore platform

United Kingdom: broadliner Tech Data is looking to bring more resellers on board with its TDengage webstore service, through which they can offer any of the extensive range of products the distributor stocks on their own website. The service is available free of charge to Tech Data customers on the Basic option. It enables resellers to display up-to-date information on any or all the 100,000-plus product lines that Tech Data offers on their own, tailored e-commerce platform. The reseller’s business name and colour scheme can be used on the pages, which can be linked directly to their own website and Facebook pages, and are also adapted for use on mobile devices. Resellers can select which product categories and brands they want to display on the pages and updated information from vendors is posted to the pages automatically, as soon as it becomes available. Additionally, for a fee of for €485 a year, resellers can also have a full web store, with pricing, stock availability and ordering basket functionality included. Resellers can control which products customers can view and tailor pricing to different customers or groups. For €1225 a year, Tech Data can also provide a complete e-commerce site creation service with a full set of features and functionality and the ability to make changes at any time.

The service has been piloted in the UK since March and Tech Data is now looking to roll it out to all interested customers. "The TDengage service is working really well and we've been very encouraged by the results to date", said Helen Parsons, SMB Marketing Manager. "Resellers can massively extend the range of products they make visible to customers and as it is branded with their logo and colour scheme, and the pages link directly to their website and social media pages, customers will always stay fully engaged with the reseller and not drift off to other websites." The TDengage pages can be set up online in just a few minutes, and resellers can adjust what customers do and don't see at any time. Parsons said that Tech Data will provide help and advice to resellers on driving traffic to their site and making the most of the constantly updated vendor materials. A range of free resources are already accessible via the company's Marketing Portal. Tech Data is also working on further potential enhancements to the TDengage service, including a process for automating software license renewals.

Tech Data partners with Dell and NEXIONA to launch SmartForce IoT solution

Tech Data has launched MIIMETIQ EDGE, an all-in-one Internet of Things (IoT) development platform that enables systems integrators and service providers to jumpstart their IoT projects. MIIMETIQ EDGE, which has been developed in collaboration with Dell and IoT technology partner NEXIONA, is available as an integrated solution with the Dell Edge Gateway 5000 Series for rapid IoT framework development—from proof of concept to enterprise deployment. The solutions are immediately available in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States, with global deployment beginning in 2017. They are being presented in each country by the local teams, specifically hired to develop this business, such as Christophe Fortuné in France.

MIIMETIQ EDGE is part of the new SmartForce Internet of Things (IoT) lineup offered by Tech Data’s Smart IoT Solutions practice. The SmartForce offering comprises a portfolio of validated end-to-end solutions for partners to quickly realize the benefits of bringing new digital services like predictive maintenance, asset and fleet management, and intelligent shopping to market in segments such as smart manufacturing, smart transportation and logistics, smart retail, and smart spaces. Tech Data first to offer real-time consumption data and budgeting tools for Microsoft Azure

Broadliner Tech Data has unveiled enhancements to StreamOne, the company's platform that powers its award-winning Cloud Solutions Store. StreamOne, which enables partners to offer and scale cloud and subscription services, now features an analytics dashboard that displays real-time Microsoft Azure consumption and launches proactive notifications when usage charges exceed set thresholds. The enhancements will be available to solution providers and managed service providers (MSPs) in the United States and Europe.

Tech Data's StreamOne platform is more deeply integrating with Microsoft Azure, offering solution providers and MSPs visibility into aggregate Azure consumption by customer tenant. The dashboard will provide details around Azure usage, monthly tracking and usage predictions, and overall budget and credit limits. In July, Tech Data announced enhancements to StreamOne that enable solution providers to launch a private label cloud store or integrate Tech Data Cloud services into an existing e-commerce environment. Tech Data Cloud has also recently delivered APIs to validate Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) identification and existing Cloud Service Provider (CSP) tenants, improving processes to migrate customers from Microsoft's Advisor and Open programs to Microsoft CSP. Tech Data Cloud offers solution providers and MSPs the capabilities needed to capitalize on cloud opportunities in the marketplace, including the tools to optimize and transform their businesses.
