Epos now available from Exertis

United Kingdom: broadliner Exertis has unveiled a distribution agreement with Epos Now, a UK based company that provides an affordable, award winning, cloud based EPOS system for businesses of all sizes particularly in the retail and hospitality markets. The solution is compatible with Windows, Android and Apple and also offers additional features including integrated inventory and customer management, and retail accounting. Appointments at Exertis and Spicers

United Kingdom: broadliner Exertis has appointed Rik Hubbard as Commercial and Services Director for its mobile division, reporting to Simon Woodman, Exertis Mobile' Director. In his new role, Rik will be working with the sales and purchasing teams to maximise performance of the division's vendors across the consumer and business to business areas. He will also be responsible for building on the opportunity to launch a range of device focused services from trade-in, repair and refurbishment to finance and service contracts, following the recent announcement of the acquisition of the MTR Group. On its part, office supply specialist Spicers has appointed two new Marketing Account Managers who will be tasked with working directly with Spicers, supporting dealers to help drive their sales growth. The newly appointed Marketing Account Managers, Annie Dempsey and Lee Diggens, join an existing team of 30 office-based marketers. They will focus on spending time face-to-face with dealers to help them grow. Exertis in the Frame for Samsung TV

United Kingdom: broadliner Exertis has inked an agreement with Samsung to market The Frame 55” Art Mode Ultra HD certified TV exclusively to B2B customers. Innovative The Frame is a new concept that when on is a TV, and when off it enhances a living space by displaying pictures from a built-in gallery of professionally curated art with over 100 pictures from 10 different genres including landscapes, action, architecture, still life, patterns, wild life and urban abstract. The Frame was developed in collaboration with Swiss designer Yves Behar and has an "Art Mode" which is seamlessly activated when the TV is not in use and can be activated when it detects movement in the room via a motion sensor. It utilises an near-invisible, transparent connection cable that pairs with the One Connect box, includes a no-gap wall mount, that sits the panel flat against the wall, and a choice of accessory Frame Bezel surrounds including walnut, beige and white that attach magnetically to the screen so that the Frame resembles real hanging art and blends seamlessly into the room. Customers can subscribe to an ever-increasing library of established and emerging artists or upload and display their own photos. Light sensors can adjust the image on the screen to optimum levels so that it blends in with the surroundings and pictures can even be updated, and changed using the Smart View mobile companion app through Wi-Fi for added convenience and interactivity.

Samsung's Art Store has a growing library of more than 300 pieces of established and emerging artists, curated by several international organizations, galleries and museums, including Artspace, LUMAS, Magnum Photos, Saatchi Art and Sedition. Users can change the image as frequently as they wish, saving photos and designs in their "My Collection" folder, which has 2GB of storage. The Frame also comes with the renowned fantastic Ultra HD certified picture quality we expect from Samsung.

Exertis acquires MTR Group

United Kingdom: broadliner Exertis has acquired MTR Group, a service and solutions provider specialising in 2nd generation lifecycle extension of mobile, wearable and tablet devices. MTR employs 60 staff at its bespoke high-tech refurbishment facility in Harlow, Essex. It generated sales of €13.22 million for the twelve months ended 30 November 2016 and has seen significant and sustained year on year growth since its incorporation in 2011 by founders and co-owners Steve Healy and Andy Payne. The strong relationship that MTR has with Samsung will enable Exertis to deepen its business entanglement with this key strategic brand as well as providing the opportunity to leverage MTR’s refurbishment and reverse logistics capabilities, and jointly expand these services to a wider range of potential partners.

United Kingdom: Jason Tsai, the director of bankrupt broadliner Entatech, has been handed an 18-month prison sentence for breaching a passport order and hiding assets from HMRC during the liquidation of the distributor.

Broadliner Exertis has snapped up a real coo of a distribution deal. The company has agreed a deal with Intel to distribute the US tech giant's processors, SSD, Optane memory and NUC products1. The deal includes the distribution of Intel's Core X-series processor family including the new Intel Core i9 processor brand and, in the future, the Intel Core i9 Extreme Edition – the first desktop CPU with 18 cores and 36 threads of power.

AV specialist Sahara AV Distribution has started to distribute the Matrox range of graphics cards and AV over IP products to resellers and integrators across the country.
