More business for Ignition Distribution, Ingram Micro, Maverick, Midwich and Nuvola Distribution

United Kingdom: Bitglass, the Total Data Protection company, has announced a strategic partnership with security and cloud VAD Ignition Technology to drive Bitglass' Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) and agentless mobile security solution into the local marketplace. The new partnership will see Ignition Technology bring Bitglass' SaaS platform to key resellers and partners in the UK to address growing cloud and mobile security needs in enterprises.

Comms-care has launched an enhanced set of configuration services, covering a wide range of hardware and software, for reseller partners. Services will be delivered from a dedicated 1,000 sqm space in Ingram Micro's Logistics and Distribution Centre in Crick near Daventry. The new space is large enough for the team to work on the configuration of multiple shipments on behalf of channel partners. The introduction of the new range of services means that Comms-care can take delivery of hardware components at Crick and configure them at the same location for shipping, reducing the time taken to provide fully configured devices to the minimum. The environmentally controlled configuration centre is highly secure and is completely protected against Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) with the use of specialist ESD benches, chairs, work mats, flooring and tools. The team at the centre is also expert in image deployment, where a complete copy of a working system can be downloaded to multiple units simultaneously.

Taiwanese vendor BenQ has extended its long-standing relationship with AV specialist Maverick (the AV division of broadliner Tech Data) to distribute its full range of interactive flat panels (IFPs). Effective immediately, Maverick plans to place BenQ's IFP displays in the center of its business collaboration and education solution offerings. The extensive range of IFPs have been added to Maverick's specialist list of brands and products with the aim of supporting BenQ's drive to increase sales in the UK market. Strengthening BenQ's position as the "go-to" brand for AV solutions, the partnership will combine the distributor's specialist audio visual focus with product breadth and support services for its current and new customers.

AV broadliner Midwich has started to distribute Intevi products. Intevi provides bespoke, end-to-end digital media solutions, fulfilling a range of communication needs. Midwich sees the new partnership as an extremely positive addition to their portfolio. Intevi provides advanced solutions for digital signage, communication and IPTV for a range of vertical markets.

VoIP vendor Digium has announced that telecom VAD Nuvola Distribution has joined Digium's Partner Program as a VAD. Nuvola provides a complete range of UC products and services across multiple vendor partners, providing presales and design consultancy as well as project implementation and post installation support. The agreement allows Nuvola to expand their portfolio with Digium's award-winning Switchvox UC business phone system, as well as Digium IP phones, gateways and telephony cards.

Two new brands for Beta Distribution and PSCo

United Kingdom: supply and storage specialist Beta Distribution has been appointed as distributor for AccelStor (software-defined all-flash arrays)1 and ADATA (DRAM modules, NAND Flash products, and mobile accessories)1. PSCo, the specialist distribution and trade rental division of the Midwich Group, and Epson have agreed an exclusive UK territory agreement for the distribution of its laser installation projectors3. British Isles: UTM vendor Barracuda has signed up storage VAD CMS Distribution to help it reach more MSPs across Ireland and the United Kingdom with the distributor offering cloud security and data protection. Unsecured creditors of brankrupt broadliner Entatech are set to receive around two-thirds of their money back. According to documents published by Companies House, the administrators show that Entatech's unsecured creditors are owed just over €11.3m by the Telford-based outfit, and there is €7.3m to pay them off. Of the €11.3 million, €8 million is owed to unsecured trade creditors. This figure includes Microsoft which is owed just over €1.4m. AV broadliner Midwich has announced that Nathan Rogers has been internally appointed as the Group's NEC Business Development Manager, having formerly been part of the Midwich Technical team. Nathan's appointment reflects the exceptional rate of growth within the IT and AV industry as customers become increasingly reliant upon Midwich Group's specialist knowledge and expertise to provide high quality AV solutions. Telecom VAD ProVu has bid farewell to its long-standing Sales Director and Founder, Ian Godfrey, as he retired from the company. In a career spanning 18 years, Ian has become a well-known figure in the Channel. New brands for Cloud Distribution, Cogent Distribution and Midwich

United Kingdom: network and storage VAD Cloud Distribution has signed CrowdStrike, a provider of cloud-delivered endpoint protection. The company's marquee solution, CrowdStrike Falcon is the first and only platform to unify next-generation antivirus (AV), endpoint detection and response (EDR) and managed hunting. CrowdStrike's fully cloud-based endpoint protection platform offers protection for both malware and malware-free intrusions. The company recently introduced new product modules to provide customers with the flexibility to replace their AV or augment it with EDR, security hygiene capabilities, and managed hunting. As a result, Cloud Distribution partners can procure either separate capabilities or CrowdStrike's comprehensive endpoint protection platform. Following this first partnership, CloudStrike plans to expand elsewhere in Europe, with focus on Italy and the Netherlands.

Network VAD Cogent Distribution has its sights set on becoming the largest value-added stock-holding distributor for Peplink product lines in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Cogent Distribution is to focus on aggressive UK & Ireland growth strategy. Peplink provides SD-WAN, load balancing, VPN and proprietary bonding solutions for organisations looking to increase and secure wireless bandwidth. Midwich goes south with Earpro

British AV broadliner Midwich has entered into a binding agreement to acquire a majority stake in Spanish AV VAD Earpro. The acquisition values the equity of Earpro at approximately €11m, including a net cash balance of approximately €3.2m. Managing Director Miguel Mezquita retains a stake in the business and will continue to lead the business as part of the Midwich Group. The Earpro business, headquartered in Barcelona enables the entry of the Midwich Group into the Spanish and Portuguese markets. The acquisition is further delivery of the Group's strategy, stated at IPO to grow operations through a combination of organic development and selective acquisitions.

Stephen Fenby, Managing Director Midwich Group, commented: "I am delighted to welcome Miguel, and the rest of the Earpro team to the Midwich Group. Spain and Portugal are markets we've identified as significant to the Group's international growth ambitions.
