Nuvias acquires DCB

Benelux: VAD Nuvias Group has acquired Benelux security VAD DCB for an undisclosed amount. Nuvias already has offices in the Netherlands (Amsterdam for Zycko and Oud-Beijerland for Siphon), and this move will strengthen and grow its presence in the Benelux region. DCB is a distributor with offices in Belgium (Zaventem) and the Netherlands (Veldhoven). The company has more than twenty years' experience in the industry and is focussed on cyber security, with vendors such as WatchGuard Technologies, Kaspersky Lab, Trustwave and Centrify.

Paul Eccleston, CEO Nuvias Group, said: "DCB is a value-added distributor with a very strong reputation and a large partner base. Its emphasis on service and support, outstanding product knowledge and a commitment to excellence are completely in line with the philosophy and strategy of the Nuvias Group. The DCB product range is fully aligned with the Nuvias Cyber Security Practice, with vendors such as WatchGuard and Kaspersky in common. We will be adding our pan-EMEA security vendors, such as Arbor Networks, Malwarebytes and HID Global to the DCB portfolio."

With this acquisition, DCB becomes the Nuvias Cyber Security Practice for Benelux and will further strengthen the overall Cyber Security Practice within the Nuvias Group. Eccleston added: "the Benelux region is very important strategically for us and DCB will become the Cyber Security Practice there, alongside our already established Advanced Networking and Unified Communications Practices. We will be making significant further investments in Benelux in the months ahead, including additional staff."

Watchguard appoints Nuvias

France: UTM vendor Watchguard has expanded its local distributor stable with VAD Zycko. This vendor adds up to the Cyber Security Practice in France. WatchGuard has been a long term partner of value added distributor Wick Hill, also part of the Nuvias Group, in Benelux, Germany and the United Kingdom. As WatchGuard was looking to expand further in Europe, it took the opportunity to appoint Zycko as a French distributor. Pascal Le Digol, country manager France for Watchguard, commented: "The French market is very important for us and we're really keen to be working with Zycko to grow that market further. Zycko is forming a massive cornerstone of our expansion plans for the region and we anticipate major growth in our channel presence there. We're impressed by the Nuvias concept of providing high value-add consistently across regions." Nuvias already works with more than 400 resellers in France and plans to grow this number in 2017. During the same time, it will double the size of its French team, especially through the appointment of IT security product managers and presale and technical support managers. A new partner portal is to be launched, as well as a marketing and lead generation campaign, to start the new partnership as best as possible.

Nuvias launches Unified Communications Practice

Network and storage VAD Nuvias announces the EMEA launch of its Unified Communications (UC) Practice. The Practice is based on the UC capabilities and services provided by SIPHON Networks, which became part of the Nuvias Group in October 2016. SIPHON is a leading, award-winning UC solutions and technology enabler for the channel, already established in Benelux and the United Kingdom. The UC practice will be rolled out across EMEA over the coming months, through Nuvias regional branches, starting with Germany (where the BU was presented on Cebit) and the other countries following later (Austria, Denmark, Dubai, France, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland). More Nuvias staff are being added throughout EMEA to support vendor and reseller partners. Existing UC vendors and new vendors are expected to take advantage of Nuvias' growing UC capability across EMEA to increase sales in the region. Likewise, it is anticipated that both existing and new Nuvias reseller/integrator channel partners across EMEA will take up the opportunity to enter this thriving market or expand their UC business.

Nuvias opens new office

Switzerland: network and security VAD Nuvias (which includes Zycko, Wick Hill and SIPHON) has opened a new office in Zurich. Nuvias AG Schweiz gives Nuvias complete coverage across the DACH region and complements its existing offices in Germany (Munich, Hamburg and Berlin) and Austria. Helge Scherff, Regional Vice President, Central for Nuvias, said: "our business in Switzerland, which we have been servicing from our German office, has been growing, so we decided to open a Swiss office, with both sales and technical personnel to support our customers there. We want to act as a true local partner to the local reseller base, providing the service and support they need. We have already appointed sales and technical staff to the office and will be building the numbers during the coming months. Besides providing local support, the Swiss office will also have access to the portfolio and facilities available to the wider Nuvias Group across EMEA."

A key motivator in opening the office was Nuvias' appointment by Riverbed as a Swiss distributor, an extension of Nuvias' existing EMEA distribution agreement with the networking vendor. Zycko (now part of the Nuvias Group) has been a Riverbed distributor since 2005, and is the most extensively resourced, qualified, experienced and successful Riverbed distributor in EMEA. The new office allows Nuvias to give Riverbed the best service and support at a local level in Switzerland.

Nuvias reinforces leading EMEA distributor status with multiple award wins

Unified communications (UC) specialist SIPHON (present in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom) has been named the 24th fastest growing technology company in the UK, as part of Deloitte's prestigious UK Technology Fast 50 rankings.
