Littlebit expands its activities in Benelux

Swiss memory and storage specialist Littlebit Technology intensifies its engagement in the Benelux region. Rene Verkerk has been engaged as Managing Director Benelux for Littlebit Technology BV with immediate effect. A 9-person strong team supports him in the development of the market. Rene Verkerk holds a doctorate in business management. He has more than 22 years of experience in IT distribution (among which, as Managing Director for PC component specialist Europeripherals), as well as excellent relationships to relevant manufacturers serving the IT component and peripheral markets. Moreover, Marc Salimans joins the team in the role of Business Manager Value Distribution. He is responsible for driving business relating to enterprise and solution products. This primarily revolves around enterprise and surveillance hard disks, enterprise SSDs and memory solutions by HGST, SanDisk, Samsung Enterprise and WD.

Littlebit Technology is planning to consistently develop the distribution business in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. The key manufacturer representatives contributing to growth are Corsair, Creative, G.Skill, Gainward, HGST, Kingston, Logitech, Ultimate Ears, Palit and WD. Customers in the Benelux countries will be supplied from the central warehouse for Europe in Alzenau, Germany (also serving its German and Austrian offices). The Littlebit Group boasts extensive warehousing capacities and an infrastructure capable of quickly moving increasing goods volumes, facilitating efficient high-quality service for trade partners in the entire DACH and Benelux region.

Littlebit targets the digital signage market

Germany: storage specialist Littlebit adds a string to its bow, by targetting the digital signage market. The company has strengthened its portfolio in this field, previously limited to Aopen players, with several more vendors, including: NEC Display (monitors and LFD), B-Tech (monitor stands), YCD Multimedia (content management solution) and Real Fiction (mixed reality and 3D holographic displays).

DACH: Swiss network and security VAD Boll Engineering has inked a partnership with Digicomp, to offer its training sessions to its VARs and system integrators1. German AV specialist Comm-Tec has been appointed official repair and service center for Barco projectors, as well as distributor for Exterity IP video and digital signage solutions. German telephony and telecom group Komsa has promoted Uwe Bauer as its new CEO. Gunnar Grosse and Jürgen Unger, Komsa's founders, join the supervisory board of the company. Storage vendors HGST and Sandisk have appointed Littlebit as an official distributor for its SSD and hard drives2. These products will be available through Littlebit's offices in Austria, Germany and Switzerland as well as in Benelux through Littlebit sales office in the Netherlands. German broadliner Pilot has been appointed by local security startup eBlocker as an official distributor in the country. Network and security VAD Sysob has been chosen by Application Delivery Networking vendor Array Networks as its official distributor in the DACH region, thanks to Sysob offices in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Broadliner Tech Data has added Nokia's connected healthcase portfolio to its offer in Switzerland3. Finally, Czech security editor ESET has appointed broadliner Wortmann as an official distributor for its solutions in the DACH region (through Wortmann offices in Austria and Germany, Switzerland being covered by the latter)4. A new owner for ActionIT, more vendors for ALSO, Arrow ECS, Brodos and Wentronic and investments for Ebertlang

DACH: German bankrupt PC component specialist ActionIT has been acquired by Swiss security, storage and video specialist Littlebit for an undisclosed amount. The management of ActionIT (Jochen Bless and Gernot Sonnek, Mark Scherer not being mentionned by Littlebit in its press release) keep the realms of the company. Littlebit keeps also all 27 remaining employees and the vendors of the distributor, and will merge its logistics with those of it German subsidiary.

Broadliner ALSO has added Storagecraft data security solutions to its portfolio in Germany, and Samsung smartphones to its telephony offer in Switzerland. Infrastructure VAD Arrow ECS has been appointed official distributor by virtualization editor Veeam in Germany. German telephony specialist Brodos has started the distribution of STK smartphones in the country. On Medpi, accessory and cabling specialist Wentronic has unveiled the distribution of Goobay and Cabstone (accessories and connectivity products).

Finally, software specialist Ebertlang has received equity funds from private equity house Beyond Capital Partners. The distribution plans to use these funds, whose details have not been disclosed, to fuel geographic expansion and M&A activity outside of the DACH region. Co-CEOs Steffen Ebert and Volker Lang will remain shareholders in the company. "With the support of our new shareholder we want to bring the success story of our company to the next level. Another office for Littlebit

Benelux: after Austria and Germany, Swiss storage and memory specialist Littlebit has opened up a new office in Utrecht. Staffed with six major account managers coming from some of its vendors, Littlebit Technology BV will target the whole Benelux market with Littlebit portfolio (source: IT Markt Schweiz).
