Nuvias opens new office

Switzerland: network and security VAD Nuvias (which includes Zycko, Wick Hill and SIPHON) has opened a new office in Zurich. Nuvias AG Schweiz gives Nuvias complete coverage across the DACH region and complements its existing offices in Germany (Munich, Hamburg and Berlin) and Austria. Helge Scherff, Regional Vice President, Central for Nuvias, said: "our business in Switzerland, which we have been servicing from our German office, has been growing, so we decided to open a Swiss office, with both sales and technical personnel to support our customers there. We want to act as a true local partner to the local reseller base, providing the service and support they need. We have already appointed sales and technical staff to the office and will be building the numbers during the coming months. Besides providing local support, the Swiss office will also have access to the portfolio and facilities available to the wider Nuvias Group across EMEA."

A key motivator in opening the office was Nuvias' appointment by Riverbed as a Swiss distributor, an extension of Nuvias' existing EMEA distribution agreement with the networking vendor. Zycko (now part of the Nuvias Group) has been a Riverbed distributor since 2005, and is the most extensively resourced, qualified, experienced and successful Riverbed distributor in EMEA. The new office allows Nuvias to give Riverbed the best service and support at a local level in Switzerland.

Nuvias reinforces leading EMEA distributor status with multiple award wins

All three companies in Nuvias Group, the pan-EMEA high value distribution business, which is redefining international, specialist distribution in IT, announce major 2016 award wins. Unified communications (UC) specialist SIPHON (present in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom) has been named the 24th fastest growing technology company in the UK, as part of Deloitte's prestigious UK Technology Fast 50 rankings. Security specialist Wick Hill, which is present in Austria, Germany and the United Kingdom, has been awarded CRN's prestigious Security Distributor of the Year 2016 title, for an unprecedented third time in a row. And advanced networking specialist Zycko (present in Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom has won two channel awards from videoconferencing vendor Lifesize. Zycko has been declared EMEA Distributor of the Year 2016 and EMEA Marketing Partner 2016. Pan-EMEA distributor Nuvias Group joins the HID Advantage Partner Program

New VP Services and Cloud Solutions appointed at Nuvias Group

United Kingdom: Karl Roe has been appointed VP Services and Cloud Solutions for pan-EMEA high value distributor Nuvias Group. Based in the United Kingdom, he will focus on transforming the delivery of services at Nuvias, utilising and enhancing current distribution routes to enable further channel adoption of cloud and annuity-based models. Roe has over 20 years' proven experience in qualifying, creating, selling and delivering profitable data centre, ASP, SaaS, IaaS, cloud and outsourced ICT business solutions into SMB and enterprise markets. He was instrumental in founding and developing the UK and MEA Software as a Service (SaaS) and cloud marketplaces, lately for broadliner Ingram Micro. Roe has held global channel, service transformation and cloud enablement leadership positions, working on both vendor and reseller transformation, as well as working at major software companies such as Odin, Microsoft and Oracle. He has previously led 'Buy & Build' service acquisition strategies for venture capital backed businesses, and has created customer-success driven organisations with double digit business growth. Over the last ten years, he has focussed on enabling cloud services across the Middle East, Africa and Australia. This includes being engaged by sovereign wealth funds and public companies in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to transform their local data centre investments into locally delivered, secure and scalable cloud service businesses.

Infinigate loses its boss

Patric Berger, who was the founder of the French office of Swiss security VAD Infinigate, has left the company. It is yet unknown who will replace him. Patric has joined Nuvias group as Regional Vice President South, in charge of supervising the business of the distribution group in France, Italy, Malta and Spain. He replace David Galton-Fenzi who managed the region on an interim basis.
