Pan-EMEA distributor Nuvias Group joins the HID Advantage Partner Program

VAD Nuvias Group has become a member of the HID Advantage Partner Program. The Program is a loyalty-based program which provides partners with the ability to evolve their relationship with HID Global for scalability and overall growth. As a member of the HID Advantage Partner Program, Nuvias works closely with HID Global to enhance end user value. Nuvias will distribute the full range of IAM Solutions (Identity and Access Management), including HID Global's ActivID Authentication Solutions and ActivID Credential Management System through its offices in Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. New VP Services and Cloud Solutions appointed at Nuvias Group

United Kingdom: Karl Roe has been appointed VP Services and Cloud Solutions for pan-EMEA high value distributor Nuvias Group. Based in the United Kingdom, he will focus on transforming the delivery of services at Nuvias, utilising and enhancing current distribution routes to enable further channel adoption of cloud and annuity-based models. Roe has over 20 years' proven experience in qualifying, creating, selling and delivering profitable data centre, ASP, SaaS, IaaS, cloud and outsourced ICT business solutions into SMB and enterprise markets. He was instrumental in founding and developing the UK and MEA Software as a Service (SaaS) and cloud marketplaces, lately for broadliner Ingram Micro. Roe has held global channel, service transformation and cloud enablement leadership positions, working on both vendor and reseller transformation, as well as working at major software companies such as Odin, Microsoft and Oracle. He has previously led 'Buy & Build' service acquisition strategies for venture capital backed businesses, and has created customer-success driven organisations with double digit business growth. Over the last ten years, he has focussed on enabling cloud services across the Middle East, Africa and Australia. This includes being engaged by sovereign wealth funds and public companies in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to transform their local data centre investments into locally delivered, secure and scalable cloud service businesses.

Infinigate loses its boss

Patric Berger, who was the founder of the French office of Swiss security VAD Infinigate, has left the company. It is yet unknown who will replace him. Patric has joined Nuvias group as Regional Vice President South, in charge of supervising the business of the distribution group in France, Italy, Malta and Spain. He replace David Galton-Fenzi who managed the region on an interim basis.

Zycko joins the Nokia Global Partner Program

Network and storage VAD Zycko, now part of the Nuvias Group, has been selected as Nokia's first pan-EMEA distributor and will have access to a comprehensive suite of Nokia solutions. This partnership marks an important step forward in the go-to-market diversification at Nokia, extending channel and value-added distribution, to help expand the company's footprint in the enterprise and mid-market space across EMEA thanks to Zycko offices in Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. Initially, Zycko will focus on hardware and software integration of IP routing and optical transport networks, fibre-based LAN connectivity infrastructure for buildings/campus', open standards DDI management software, and software defined networking. Nokia is uniquely positioned to help communication service providers, governments, and large enterprises deliver on the promise of 5G, the Cloud and the Internet of Things. Nokia's solutions are carrier/telco-grade, scalable to meet the most demanding XLE environments, whilst offering partners limitless scope to create their own global services across multiple products.

Nuvias expands to Middle East

Middle East: network, storage and security VAD Nuvias has added a fourth region, MEA, to its regional EMEA structure. The other three Nuvias Group regions are Northern (Belgium, Denmark, Eire, Finland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom as Wick Hill and Zycko), Central (Austria, Czech Republic, Germany as Wick Hill and Zycko, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia) and Southern Europe (France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain and Turkey) through the acquisition of infrastructure VAD SCD (which was until now owned by Rigby Group technology arm. The new office will now act as a hub for Nuvias' MEA activities, covering all parts of the Gulf Co-operation Council1 (GCC) area, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Moroccan office of SCD has been closed, because of insufficient business locally.

This is the latest development in the strong growth and development plans of Nuvias, which was established this summer. Nuvias is building an EMEA-wide, high-value, specialist distribution business, with a common proposition and consistent delivery. The strategy is to redefine value distribution to the channel, enabling the channel and vendor community to deliver exceptional business value to their customers and creating new standards of channel success.

Also being announced today is the setting up of the Nuvias Cyber Security Practice at the Dubai office, which includes vendors Unitrends (cloud empowered continuity solutions), Malwarebytes (advanced malware prevention and remediation) and Black Duck (open source security and management). These brands join existing partnership with Netskope (cloud data loss prevention). Other recent vendor signings for Nuvias in the MEA region include JetNEXUS (load balancing - recently announced), Lifesize (videoconferencing) and Tintri (VM-aware storage for virtualisation and the cloud).

Nuvias has already recruited several new staff for the MEA office bringing the current total up to 16. These include recent recruit Muneeb Anjum, the new sales director. Anjum has twelve years' experience in the IT sector, with a proven track record in managing channel partners across the Middle East and extensive experience in successfully introducing new solutions to market.
