Ingram Micro named global Symantec distribution partner

Building on its success in advanced IT security, broadliner Ingram Micro is now a key global distribution partner for Symantec and an authorized distributor for the network security portfolio Symantec gained through its acquisition of Blue Coat last August. "With Symantec and Ingram Micro as part of our partner ecosystem, we are empowered and enabled to deliver the advanced managed security services and solutions businesses need to confidently capitalize on the business-building benefits of cloud computing", said Pat Grillo, Chairman of the Board Atrion, an Ingram Micro channel partner.

Under the new scope, Ingram Micro will expand its reach from multi-regional to global, and support Symantec's Integrated Cyber Defense enterprise portfolio including endpoint, email, data loss prevention, data center, cloud security and secure web gateway solutions. Channel partners across several key regions including the Americas, Europe and Asia can now easily engage Ingram Micro to establish a new or expanded relationship with Symantec. Additionally, existing Ingram Micro / Symantec channel partners can expand their solutions portfolio and services reach to include complementary product lines and international customers.

New distributors for Unify and Xerox

India: Xerox has named broadliner Compuage Infocom as its new national distributor partner for Xerox range of office products and Supplies1. With this distribution tieup, the company is looking at expanding its presence in the tier 2 and 3 markets in the country along with strengthening supply chain efficiency. Network and security VAD Inflow Technologies has unveiled a new distribution agreement with IP communication editor Unify2. With this distribution agreement, Inflow Technologies is authorized to distribute and support Unify's entire portfolio, including OpenScape and the soon-to-be-locally-launched Circuit. The OpenScape portfolio can scale from voice to UC and grow to 100,000 users. The combination of Inflow with OpenScape will provide a winning combination of great selling opportunities for partners. Avnet expands interconnect and power portfolio with global Bel Fuse franchise agreement

Semiconductor specialist Avnet and Bel Fuse have signed an expanded franchise agreement. Avnet now offers Bel's full line of power products, circuit protection, magnetics and interconnect solutions globally to customers in the Americas, Europe and Asia in markets including networking, telecommunications, computing, military/aerospace and transportation. "With our extensive global technical and supply chain resources, Avnet's IP&E specialists can streamline global sourcing of Bel's diverse product portfolio and help guide our mutual customers to the solutions that will enable peak performance across both emerging market applications, as well core datacenter, telecom and avionics systems", said Tom McCartney, senior vice president, global IP&E business development, Avnet.

New partnerships for Redington and Tech Data

India: in line with its global "platform+ecosystem" strategy, Huawei Enterprise Business Group has announced a partnership with broadliner Redington to distribute and market Huawei enterprise products and services in the country1. Driven by strong business momentum globally, Huawei Enterprise BG India aims to create maximum value for Indian enterprises with its innovative ICT solutions and services backed by a strong ecosystem. As part of this partnership, Redington will support Huawei in developing resellers to market and promote products and/or services in areas of server, storage, data center and cloud computing to Huawei enterprise customers in India. As part of the partnership, Redington will provide post sales maintenance services and also be responsible for channel partner development and technical training of channel partners.

Broadliner Tech Data has announced that its Technology Solutions business, formerly a division of Avnet, has signed an agreement to distribute the entire legacy Dell enterprise portfolio in addition to the legacy EMC portfolioé. This means Technology Solutions will now deliver the complete Dell EMC portfolio, including servers, storage and networking, to its network of reseller partners across the country. "With a view of delivering the highest value to our partners, we have signed a strategic agreement with Dell EMC in India", said Sundaresan Kanappan, country general manager Technology Solutions India. "This will enable Technology Solutions to add additional value to the solutions distribution philosophy that we believe and follow. RS Components signs Digilent agreement

Semiconductor specialist RS Components has signed a global distribution agreement with Digilent, a world leader in academic and research technology solutions. The deal provides access to a wide range of popular FPGA and microcontroller development boards, JTAG programmers and a range of microcontroller peripheral application boards and portable instruments. "This agreement with Digilent represents an excellent source of tools for embedded development, which complements the RS offer for over a million customers. It delivers on our ‘Digital FAE’ promise to our suppliers, to our DesignSpark community and to RS University customers, allowing them to comprehensively equip their design benches", said Jon Boxall, head of semiconductors at RS. "It will enable our customers to simplify and accelerate their product development cycles and ease rapid prototyping."
